I mentioned Edgar Cayce above in my Reiki Introduction, so here is a link to his site for more information on him and on Rosemary Altea.

Their life's work has had the most influence

on me next to my mom and dad. My dad has been a Reiki Master for many, many years. I would like to thank my boyfriend, Rakesh for believeing in me.

Mediums are just ordinary people, and who like everyone else, have the ability to use all 6 senses instead of the basic 5 senses. We raise our own vibrations and open ourselves up to the 4th plane (Spirit world). By doing this spirits can communicate through us to their family, loved ones, and friends who are here on the 3rd plane (still living).  We can’t choose who we want to communicate with because this is the choice of those in the Spirit world.

Each medium has different levels of vibrations which allow them to work in their own unique way. Just as all people use a combination of our physical senses in the material world (touch, hearing, sight, etc.) to communicate with others, Spirits use a combination of the "extra sensory perceptions" of clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience to communicate with mediums.

Clair-voyance means clear-seeing. This may be experienced both subjectively and objectively. The easiest way to explain the way that I experience clairvoyance subjectively is for you to try this:
Think back to a favorite holiday that you have experienced. Travel back, "re-live" the images in your mind or picture in your mind, a favorite photo. Can you see? This is the same way that Spirits shows me their "images". Some are their own personal memories; others are images which convey information which help to provide guidance for the future. When I experience clairvoyance objectively, I see Spirits in the same way that I would see you, if you were standing in front of me. This is to me a very rare occurrence though, because most of the clairvoyance I receive is subjective.

Clair-audience is clear-hearing. This too occurs on a subjective level or on an objective level. We all "talk" to ourselves here and there during the day. Thoughts of "Where did I put that?" or "I'm going to be late." With subjective clairaudience, the experience is similar, except that the "thoughts" that come into my mind are from the Spirit world. Being able to tell the difference between the images, thoughts and feelings that come from the Spirits, and my own images, thoughts and feelings can be very tricky and tiring at times because my own fears and hopes can get in the way. Now on the objective level, clairaudience is where Spirits can be heard aloud as if they are standing next to me and talking aloud. Most of the time, if not always, I receive images, thoughts and feelings on a subjective level.

Clair-sentience is clear-sensing. To try and understand the way that "sensing" works on a subjective level, try this: Have you entered a room where there has been an argument and "felt" the atmosphere and you could cut it with a knife? This is a good example, that I feel, everyone has experienced by using their  "senses" to sense energy subjectively. When I "sense" Spirits' energy subjectively, I "feel" their emotions, both those being experienced at the time of their communicating with me and also those emotions that they relay to me to describe their experiences of the past. Objectively, I sense Spirits as a tingling feeling, almost sometimes like I have shivers but I’m not actually cold.

Spirits are not scary and they sure are nothing like you see in the movies or on TV. So all the fake 1-800 #'s, fake mediums and psychics, the movies and TV shows just continue to add the our negative public image. If you ever meet with a medium and psychic, including myself, my number 1 advice I can give you, is NEVER give out too much personal information out before the session and even then be careful what you reveal during the session too. When fakes guess answers and the answers are in a board form, most of the time, it could apply to anyone.  Sadly some people can get excited and just start talking about the topic at hand, without realizing they may have gave out information. Then they use that information without you realizing that they have done that. Let us tell you who comes through and what they have to say.  If you have a special question, the Spirits already know what you are wanting to have answered and we should be able to let you know.

Last, I would like to let you know, they are around, supporting and loving you still. It's always painful to accept the fact that a loved one has crossed over. Don't be afraid to talk to them even if you have a hard time figuring out if they are there or not because you don't feel, hear or sense them. Just call their name and talk to them about whatever is on your mind and in your heart, they are there with you. As the medium Rosemary Altea explains, "Yet our loved ones do not want us to suffer as they watch over us in our daily struggles... And even as they live and continue their lives, our loved ones who have left us still share their lives with us. They visit, they watch, they care, and they walk by our side. They send their love, strength and protection, even as our angels give us protection."

Reiki  (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese form of energy healing commonly called the "Universal Life Energy" (which the Japanese kanji "Rei" and "ki" mean, roughly) that is used worldwide. Reiki is believed to have begun in Tibet several thousand years ago and has since merged into various healing systems, which have crossed many different cultures.  Reiki involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to patient to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy. It is a holistic, natural, energy healing system that touches on all levels: body, mind, and spirit

Mikao Usui was a teacher in a Christian school, and in his research for his teachings, he wanted to learn more of the healing methods that Jesus used. In search of this information he traveled throughout Asia and even into America, but failing to find what he sought, he returned to Japan disillusioned. He secluded himself on Mt. Kurama for twenty-one days and had long rituals of fasting and meditation. On the twenty-first day, being near death, Usui was struck by a great force of energy that knocked him unconscious. While he was unconscious, he was taught the foundations of Reiki and all of the sacred Reiki symbols. Upon awakening, Usui descended from the mountain to spread the good news of Reiki and share the healing with others.

Reiki can reform your entire attitude, as well as heal what ails you. It can open you up to new possibilities, new hope and faith. It heals the body, the mind, and the spirit all at once. Reiki energy has many different types of effects of healing: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy blockages, detoxifies the system, speeding up the healing process of cuts, even large ones, chronic pain, rebuilds the immune system and body organs, illnesses such as internal diseases, emotional disorders, depression, stress-related illnesses and increases the vibrational frequency of the body. Also besides the healing effects of Reiki on human beings, Reiki can also be used to treat animals, plants, or anything else that has energy. I have used Reiki on my 4 cats, to charge the crystals that I use for healing, and to clear houses of negative energy or of not-so-nice spirits.

Everyone can learn Reiki and help heal others. All you have to do is undergo attunements into Reiki energy. Through a series of attunements, part of the initiation process for new Reiki practitioners, a Reiki master employs the ancient sounds and symbols that attune an individual's nervous system to a higher level of energy. A level is reached in which the students, neither highly trained nor especially gifted, can experience more energy flowing through their hands, giving them the power to heal themselves and others. An initiation is not absolutely essential but it allows you access to the universal life energy, which is used rather than their own life energy.

There are many different types of spiritual healing. Some healers place their hands on a particular part of the patient's body in order to release energy into it. So, there the healer is the one who is sending out the energy. In Reiki, we hold our hands a few inches away from the patient's body and manipulate the energy field from there. It is the patient that draws the energy in because the mind, body and spirit already know how much life energy is needed and where.

In Reiki, I use certain hand positions  which correspond to the chakra points of my patient's body, where the energy exchange takes place with my patient. Chakras are gateways or pathways by which energy flows through into our bodies. Reiki and the universal energy then flows through me, to my patients. This gives every cell, all the way to the DNA, the proper energy and balance it needs to heal, harmonize and balance. As Edgar Cayce, a psychic and healer, mentioned in a reading to someone once: what one thinks continually, they become; what one cherishes in their heart and mind they make a part of the pulsation of their heart, through their own blood cells, and build in their body, that which its spirit and soul needs. The Reiki energy changes the frequency in the body's energy (and it is a scientifically proven fact that the body has an energy field called the Aura), healing the body first, moving to the mental and the emotional levels, and then to the spirit.

During a treatment, my patient and I both can usually feel many different sensations: mostly warmth, tingling, or static/electrical feelings. Sometimes my patients can feel the sensations all over and through out their bodies.  I believe when you experience Reiki, you are experiencing the touch of unconditional love & it's life force, simply everything that the universal healing and energy are made up of, and the experience is rich and lasting.
